Yesterday under body coating in the wheel arch, to prevent rusting from that side.
After this, I put the wings back to look everything is straight and fitting, but I am not happy with the left front wing..
the gap between the door and the wing is not correct, front side is ok.[frame]Image[/frame][frame]Image[/frame]
The plan was to make the bumpers black, but because I had to much paint ready for the engine, I used some 2K engine paint for the bumpers.
But I like the result ;)

A short time break, my boss needed me somewhere else, far from my car, but not far from the city Morris ;)[frame]Image[/frame]

What a fantastic restoration. And I love your shed. You mentioned you have water coming forming on any cold steel areas when you get cold weather. I wonder if the dampness is coming from the washing machine that is also in your shed. Most condensation inside homes is from the bathroom/ washhouse and cooking so it could be the same in a shed.

Because of the floor heating, and a lot of ventilation, it is very dry in my shed.
The bathroom and kitchen in my house are connected on a mechanical ventilation system, this is standard in a dutch house built after 2000.
Together with my floor heating, I also have a wood heating option ;)
This one needs also fresh air, and together with the main door in the shed, all the people who are going in and out the house, are using the shed as entrance, a lot of fresh air is coming in.

Yesterday I had to bring my car in another dry barn, because one of my children's car has to be welded, and a needs another rear axle.
So my MM saw the sunlight for a few minutes, it is only 100 meter, so it could go on the road.[frame]Image[/frame]
While I was looking for a gearbox, I got a secondhand USHM3 engine, removed as a running engine.
So today it was my lucky day, now I can save the original one from the car, and mount a running engine before.
Maybe lift the cilinderhead before to check the valves, and other parts..[frame]Image[/frame]

The MM is back on his place, and the job starts again.
First cleaned the engine, and to be sure, I took his head off.
This was a good idea, because one of the valves was leaking, and has a small hole...[frame]Image[/frame]
Also a little rust in the cylinders and a lot of piston rings are not moving anymore.
It looks like this engine made a lot of very short and cold trips, because of a lot of coal everywhere.
No broken piston rings, still not, but how to remove them without breaking :x
I sprayed the with WD40, so they can think about loosing for a week.
I can order new piston rings, but I have some spare pistons with rings
The other option is, to rebore this one, and put my spare .30 pistons in it, the old are .20
Or first drive with this engine, and do it on a later moment[frame]Image[/frame]
The engine is painted green and red, both are not the original color..[frame]Image[/frame]
Th only problem is the flywheel, he needs a new starter ring, because the old one is damaged.
Anyone experience with changing this ring?

The old ring gear can be cut, carefully between two teeth untill it pops open and falls off. Then after cleaning the land on the flywheel, lay the new ring gear on top and start heating all round with a torch. It will expand enough for it to either drop on of it's own accord or with a gentle tap. One of those strangely satisfying jobs.

When my Dad and I changed the ring gear on my MM we put the cleaned flywheel in the freezer overnight before attempting to fit the new ring, as Redmoggy says it was heated with a welding torch and dropped onto the flywheel but it did nedd some tapping down as well to make it sit nice and squarely and flat.

Freezing the flywheel helps, but not significantly. you get tens of degrees, compared with hundreds of degrees with the torch!

I had the flywheel in the freezer and the ringgear in the oven ,I think 240 degrees celcius and that worked well in my case.

80% from the flywheel is not bad, but something has gone wrong just before the man took the engine out of the car..[frame]Image[/frame][frame]Image[/frame]
Maybe it is better t put the .30 pistons in this engine, together with some new exhaust valves.
I have the pistons, and also the new exhaust valves, so only with the cost from re-boring, this engine can run for longer then a few years.

Maybe I can use first another flywheel, I have a spare one, complete with rusty crankshaft.[frame]Image[/frame]
Not the best one, but better as the other one.[frame]Image[/frame]
In total I have 3,5 engine, but all of them need money and time to run again.....
Only one of them is ready, so 2 other to go. :D

The original engine is back in the car, I needed space to work, and 3 engines on a workbench is to much ;)[frame]Image[/frame]
Now I have to check if everything is complete, when I got the car in parts, the engine was taken out on a not so nice way....
Exhaust pipe cutted, instead of unscrewed, choce cable also cutted, oil liner to the dashboard, cut in two parts :evil:
Bolts are missing , and and and.....[frame]Image[/frame]
Next step is checking all the cables, wiring, if they are still usable for parts.
Stupid things like shock absorber bolts are also missing, but I could order them new.
I have a radiator with a steel top, but also saw another MM with a copper radiator, which one is standard?

Another step this weekend, all the old rubbers from the front suspension replaced, started with the right side.[frame]Image[/frame][frame]Image[/frame]
Changed the shock absorber with a better working one...[frame]Image[/frame]
and preparing the next step.

Only some troubles with the oil pipe to the dashboard, the man who took the engine out, has broken this pipe at the engine side.
ESM only has the plastic type, but this one is original...[frame]Image[/frame]

What should be the best, make the original one a little shorter, or buy the plastic one from ESM?

I wouldn't recommend repairing the old copper oil pipe or using the plastic pipe from ESM. You need to buy one of these...

The old pipe is not copper but steel ;)
I had 2 options, not far from here , a company is specialized in "liners" for fluid pressure, and has the option to make a copy.
But the other way is order a new one, so I tried this.

The other thing is the wing problem, they do not fit without cutting and welding again.
The space between the RH door is different and to much on the top.
The better wings I have, are the lowlight wings.[frame]Image[/frame]
To use this, I need 2 new headlights because of the glass and reflector is not perfect, and I need the grille..
The headlights I can order them as a copy, I hope, but the grille?
