After runnig about in PZ with the new type oil filter fitted oil pressure has dropped a good 10 - 15 on hot idle, compared to an original spec one. Goodness knows what it would have been with out the wee restrictor! still around the 40 though so all good, just an observation

decided to actually do something today. Got round to fitting indicators. I had the new loom modified to take them and they are on now operating alongside the trafficators. I dont know about them, i suppose they will grow on me - safety and all that.[frame]Image[/frame]

I don't know if anyone has mentioned the idea of a high level brake light to you before but I thought you might like to take a look at this article:

I had three people drive into the back of me before I fitted mine and it would be a shame if some idiot did the same to you and then said it was because your brake lights were too low for them to see!!
Them being too close has nothing to do with it, of course!! :evil:

Anyway, the attached idea for said high level brake light incorporates it into your existing rear badge very neatly, without any visible (when the boot lid is closed of course) modification. You would just need to link it into the brake light circuit.
Simples! :D

I always find it amazing when i jump from the 1098 to the 803 and find it so sedate, then when i swop back the 1098 feels like its supercharged :P

Well after a fantastic national, i decided the door hinges on the drivers side needed re-pinned. So as the series 2 hinge doesnt open that far, it was decided to take the door off. Easy stuff as it had been off before :P Sweating buckets not to scratch pain though. The bottom hinge pin came out easy and was re drilled to fit to other oversize pin with little issues, the top was different. It wouldnt move even after roasting it and thumping it. Grinding a wee num off the top and bottom finally seemed to sort it. After it was out it didnt even need redrilling for the new pin - it was that worn.[frame]Image[/frame]

Also on the way home from England the ignition warning light came on. Turns out the regulator had stuck on charge, boiled the battery and melted the solder out of the dynamo! a replacement armature sorted the dynamo and an NOS regulator replaced the original, so we are up running again. I've still got the old regulator as its the original, but is there anyway to rebuild and refurbish the original?

What Stevey hasnt mentioned here is that PZ won Best Series 11 saloon at the national Rally in Scampston Hall! 100 miles later it stopped charging :D[frame]Image[/frame]

replacement armature

I've spent about half an hour online and haven't been able to locate a "replacement armature" ... where did you source yours, Stevey?

I was lucky enough to get hold of another damaged dynamo and was able to use the armature from that. They do appear online for sale quite often. Just ensure you get the same type as you already have.

Been a while since I've added to this. Pz went to the jubilee and has been used here and there.

Recently I've got new tyres and sorted the tracking.

I've also finally gotten round to repairing and assembling a dashboard clock. Does anyone have photos of how the wiring goes from the clock to the dashboard. Most have been converted to quartz so I haven't been able to see the routing.
