Re: barrie's project
Re the wings, I've purchased my front wings from Bully and ESM. My Mog is '59, and it has larger sidelights than yours (I imagine) but smaller than the latest two-bulb ones, and the wings come pre-cut for the two-bulb ones (ESM sells wings already modified for smaller lights, but the hole is in the wrong position in the item photo, so I didn't bother). They have to be modified slightly by welding (or glueing?) a patch into the existing hole, and then drilling a new hole in the right position. They may also need other slight modifications to fit. However, they're a pretty good panel. The genuine Heritage-brand ones go for £183 each, which is pricey, but they're worth it.
Excellent work on this project! Really enjoying watching your progress.

Re: barrie's project
thanks for that link ..
this pic is of the boot lid ,iv sanded down the outer face with 40 grit (to get rid of the thick layer of filler, then 80 grit to bare metal ,then 120 grit to get rid of the 80 grit scratches, and wire wheeled every last spot of rust i could get rid of !!.
i then panel wiped the hole outer face the etch primed it straight after to prevent it from rust forming on the surface.[frame][/frame]

Re: barrie's project
this pic is of a quick pull smart repair system which i used to pull the dents out with (the dents where full of filler before !!). its easy to use one earth strap to clamp on the panel then touch the tip of the slide hammer on the dent ,the machine welds to it ,then slide the hammer to remove the dent , simples !! . after the dents have been remove i sanded the area with 120 grit then panel wiped then etch primed .[frame][/frame]
