Nice and shiny on the top but a wee bit scabby on the bottom eh. And that welding looks like it's been done by a 5 year old.
Best o' luck wi'it anyroad.

Your welding looks like mine, not pretty!
If I decide to do any more I'm going to invest in an automatic mask as they aren't as dear now.
I think you need to turn up the power a bit, and the wire speed down a bit, but I'm sure there is someone here who could give better advice on this.

Please disregard these comments, unable to delete following PM explaining eyesight etc.
Apologies  [/quote]
hi looking at your traveller
its awesome m8
the upholstery and the detail is out of this world
if only they could find a way of producing them again
and meet the safety standards
of today the traveller would sell and sell no bother
never mind all those toys they got on the present day cars
basic am sure would sell and keep down the repair costs

Hi
New to the Forum. Have just bought a 69 Traveller. Looks like I was slightly luckier than you Alexander.
The welding on mine has been completed by someone with a good knowledge of how rust can ruin a decent weld.
I wish you luck on your restoration project, it has given me inspiration to take some photos of mine as I go along.

The timber needs totally replacing on my traveller. I love my woodwork, and would love to make this myself. Does anyone have any idea where I can get a working set of drawings from for the Ash work? I have tried bay, and trawled the net for hours, with no luck.

hi
your project sounds interesting and exciting
so the woodwork
if its still there? why dont you dismantle if bit by bit and use it as a template
if you look at some web sites that are selling them you can see an exploded view of all the pieces
and as ash timber is a home grown sourced wood all you need to look out for is that it has been properly seasoned with a low
moisture content prior to you cutting it to shape
all the best and looking forward to you posting some pictures
