1955,4 Dr, Split Screen Saloon
[frame][/frame]
I bought this car at the end of 2010, found it on ebay and picked it up one friday night from the south coast. Drove it home, no problems, It needed some welding and had been welded in the past . However, I could have had a patch or two put on the car for the MOT, but decided, ( after my partner Alison had looked the car over and decided she would like it) to cut out all the rotted and patched metal.
As I'm not a welder (yet) I managed to join a car restoration course at my local college , one evening a week, all the help I need as well as equipment and welding experience !!!
So I have begun with cutting out the patched floor,[frame][/frame]

With the help of a work friend, I have had to re size these photo's in order to put them on the site, otherwise I would have been putting them on earlier in the year !

Nice work! Glad to see you braced the door gaps with so much metal being cut out. Personally I only replace one floor pan at a time.
Is that wood used to brace the gaps or thick steel sheets??
Keep the updates coming, this shows the great value in going on a restoration course!

Hello,
Its steel, one flat bit, spot welded onto another bit which has been bent in order to give it strength.
