my 1967 morris minor

Post by mmjosh »

This is my 1967 morris minor that i bought last thursday (20/09/2012) for the sum of £500.00 it has 10 months tax and mot but dont ask me how it got through a mot i bought this to use daily to save my 1966 morris minor so i can just use that for shows.[frame]Image[/frame]

I took the n/s/r wing of as it was fibreglass and had cracked so i have got a spare n/s/r metal wing to go on this, but after tapping the inner wing a chunk of fibreglass came out and revealed this[frame]Image[/frame]

I am in cornwall for a week now on holiday so the welding will start next saturday

Think yourself lucky (mmjosh) mine is a 1967 morris 1000 saloon, and i bought her in march this year with lots of tax and test.Well when i got her home,i proceeded to strip her down for a full respray, and if you look at one of my other threads,(on the resto page) you will see what i had found and am in the process of restoring it now,it was not bought to restore, but now it has become this, and i paid £1450 for her,so good luck mate and dont forget to take of the sill covers,as mine where welded on,have a look what i found.[frame]Image[/frame]

i took of the sill covers after i bought it and it has had new inner and outer sills and boxing plates on both sides the crossmember and chassis legs are all good but it needs both front inner wings repairing around by the bumer irons and 2 front floors and 1 back floor and thats all i can see that needs doing.

cheers josh

Welding has been done on n/s/r inner wing and has also been painted in red oxide then spray on stone chip[frame]Image[/frame]

Here is a picture of the inside[frame]Image[/frame]

Here is a photo of the car[frame]Image[/frame]

The next thing on the list is to repair both corners of the boot floor the n/s/r chassis leg near to the spring hangers and the o/s/r inner wing as someone who previously owned the car before has decided to use fibreglass on the arch piece where the wing bolts on to.

Now you've started the colour scheme, I think you should do whole car as a chequered flag :D
