Re: wee scottish traveller
It doesn't look like the brakes were even touched during that expensive restoration! Look at all that rusting on the backplate and hub. You've got your work cut out for you, but the repairs to the front end and roof look like good quality. Good luck with the woodworking!

Re: wee scottish traveller
looks like great dedicated work. Was the car outside/open to the elements from 1996 to when you got it?

Re: wee scottish traveller
I wouldn't. The end result is awful, but nothing is going to change it.I would certainly contact the company responsible
A badly welded patch can be from any source - including the local MOT station and the bloke next door.
There's no definitive way of knowing who has done exactly what to the car in the last 30 years, and what was and wasn't asked for by the previous owner/s, so best not to point the blame stick, and would rather let people see the useful info like we had from the original poster.
The other lesson here is....
regular rust prevention treatment, clearing out mud from mud traps, making sure seams and windows dont leak, washing away winter salt and re-waxoiling when dry etc..

You cannot say this.POMMReg wrote:Regardless of WHEN the work was undertaken, the quality of this work is attrocious!
I would certainly contact the company responsible, requesting whether they find the standard
of renovation satisfactory.
We are not allowed to comment negatively about peoples cars.
I just got a reprimand for saying something less derogatory about whoever carried out this work initially..
