Very neat work!! Ive often wondered why they dont make the floor with the sill included as if your going to replace the floor the sill is going to be rotten as well, and I dont think anybody makes the bit under the back seat which is all too often needing work now that the cars are so old. Perhaps you should approach some of the panel manufacturers as they might be interested in some of your patterns!

What fantastic attention to detail and quality workmanship :D .The quality of your panels is far better than the junk churned out by so called replacement panel firms and puts them to shame .

It was quite disheartening enough having to compare my efforts with those of Neil MG and Taupe. This level of perfectionism is completely beyond my reach, makes me feel like packing up completely. Anyone interested in a second hand welder and a half finished Traveller?

Mark

Dont be disheartened..we all have to start somewhere and you should have seen the appalling welding on my first project a Ford escort sill replacement in the early 1980s...it was truly awful but did mean that the car could be used for another couple of years.

Just keep at it, your welding and panel skills improve the more that you do..looking at other peoples work should give you ideas and inspiration..

I have to agree with you taupe, the more you do,the better you will get.many of the techniques are reasonably simple- cutting, folding ,drilling etc.some simple repairs can be done by just folding metal in a vise or over the edge of a piece of wood for instance.Have a go,there is great satisfaction to be had when you have done something yourself.

Awesome work Volrod, have followed this one with much interest. You should repair Moggies for a living....have I told you about a 67' 2-door at the bottom of my garden that needs some welding, no?, well...........

But seriously, i definately want to try out basic welding this year, must be very satisfying to know the car is so solid.
