When I bought the car the boot area was pretty much ok and intact. However the vinyl had signs of oil spills and general wear and tear so I decided this summer to add new vinyl fitting.
When I ripped the old vinyl out the boards were sound and flat and the wheel arches had no sign of corrosion so a good clean up was in order. I secured the wheel arch vinyl with Evo-Stik spray adhesive and used the original sliders to hold the base and seat area in place. They just needed a good clean with bicarb of soda.
I painted the metal base frame with Hammerite Smooth paint after treated for rust removal.
The before and after pic show the boot area when the old vinyl had been taken out.
I also treated the wooded area around the spare wheel carriage and replaced the old aperture board with a new one.
I am pleased with the results. [frame][/frame]

Looks fantastic! It is amazing how something quite simple can make such a big difference.

Re: New Boot Vinyl
Thanks Neil
Its amazing what small things you can do for little cost.
That wooden frame only costs £3.25. The varnish I had in stock from last year.
The two lock down latches (when the boot is flat) cost 59p each from B&Q.

Looks great! I notice you have the obligatory tartan travel rug; I had one just like it, but somehow managed to spill dirty engine oil on it when carrying something!
I'm intrigued by your top rail (just under the roof, where the back doors close against), as it looks quite unlike mine.

Re: New Boot Vinyl
Hi Chipper
I think its because the original black rubber seal was replaced with a brown/beige one. It does make the back look different when the doors are open.
Cheers
