Well this should be the start of a beautiful friendship.

She's not bad, a "daily driver" but has all the usual problems. I've rebuilt the front brakes and suspension but with little or no experience I need to do a bunch to the bodywork

IMHO, having dealt with a similar area on my 2 door, that isn't too bad a bit to fix, once the front wing is off.

All the bits I can see with holes in are single skin areas IIRC, so it's just a case of cutting out all the rot, bending up some bits of tin that fit, and welding them in...

Its actually that the sill finisher doesnt line up with the door or the wing edge. I think the whole sill and floorpan has been welded up wrong https://flic.kr/p/pfKewe[frame][/frame]

i'm currently restoring mine and have found that the sill finisher is bolted from underneath. You could see if it un-bolts/loosens and move the sill finisher out a little by filling the space with maybe washers or a strip of metal. Same goes for moving it forward/backward. Best to get the sill finisher off if you can and see. Just look underneath the sill.
