Chrome wheel trim as seen on the homepage

Post by bardellson »

Hi

Does any kind individual know where i can purchase the chrome wheel trims as seen on the homepage? Not the chrome hubcaps but the large round "bezel" that frames the middle cap.

Thanks in advance

Occasionally you see Ace Rimbellishers on Ebay but expensive and usually 15" or 16".

Here are some from Ebay, though they are not cheap.

It says that those are stainless steel. The originals (standard on the Minor 100,000 and also the Riley 1.5 which uses the same wheels) were chrome plated.

Those may be better as the original chrome ones pitted quickly.

Try autojumbles - I picked up 2 for £4.00 a couple of weeks ago.

Thanks guys spot on

My grandfather past away a few years ago and had a "project" in his garage. Its a 1962 Trafalgar blue convertible. I'm currently in the process of "doing it up" or restoring it to its former glory.

I'm a fairly young lad and may upset a few enthusiasts as I'm not exactly keeping to the original specifications...... I've gone for a blue/grey duo tone interior. Salvaged a 15" original jaguar wooden steering wheel. Sourced a manufacturer to produce a chrome boss with a Morris badge for the horn.
Looking to try and cover the dash somehow. I like the idea of a wooden dash, but may settle for a cream & chrome dash.

I'll admit I'm going about the process all wrong, 2 years ago i got the suspension changed, roof re-done, new brakes. And I'm currently in the process of replacing all the external chrome work.

I honestly have no idea if the engine is capable for running longer than when i turn it on. I'm far from a mechanic. I sit behind a desk all day. everyday I'm learning as i go.

I hope to get it through an MOT but if i cant. Its a very good looking cushion store

You are doing the best possible thing - keeping a classic alive!
How you do that is entirely up to you, if you like the result then it is good.
Best of luck with all your endeavours and post some pics along the way. :D
