I have returned after a year or so in silence-its great to be back now I am ready to start some body work on the morrie.

Im from NZ and have a 74 flatdeck ute. Its not as tidy as it looks hence the time to tide him up.

currently running a Datsun A12 56a 4 speed box. This is coming out in a few weeks to be replaced with an A15 with mods I have been working on, paired with a 60a 5 speed box, and H150 diff.

the upload photo function after I have selected the photo to be uploaded doesn't give my an 'upload' option... why is this?

If you are uploading straight from your PC then click on the 'Browse' button at the bottom of a reply window and select one from your files.

I do that. Then once photo is in the box the is no upload option. When I click preview it doesnt show any photos

I just did exactly that and it worked for me, maybe your files are too big

Been a bit busy this month working away from home, then the house jobs list on weekends...you know how it goes. Got through some progress today though which was great.[frame][/frame]

I also cut out the front cross member to make a removable one. Has anyone else done this? I haven't been able to find much info on it. I figured I'ts a great way of getting the engine out quickly.[frame][/frame]

You will need to re-route the brake pipe across the bulkhead and put a simple four way connector in for the LH lights. Otherwise it's just to make the crossmember a bolt in fit. That said, it has to be one of the easiest engines to remove even with the crossmember in place, so I am not convinced there is much benefit.

I would think twice about cutting out the front cross member, as Neil says the engine changes on these couldn't be easier, plus I'd be worried about removing an area of strength and loosing some squarness to the whole geometry.

t now so I either weld back in solid or make a removal system. It's not hard to fabricate something to keep the stiffness in check. In did it because the motor and gear box will be in and out so much in the coming months.

Here's the a15 I've that's livened up with cams, Serious head work etc. Mated to a 60 5 speed reconditioned box I was very fortunate to find here in nz.

I've been flat out with life. Progress is being made. I will post pics this weekend.

I've cut out and replaced front quarter panels and had the motor in and running, we have decided to fully strip the shell and have it blasted and primered. Now I just need to find the time to strip it down . We are doing this properly!
