Trafalgar blue Morris Minor Convertible stolen in London!!

Post by kelly »

Hi All,

My mum and dad were visiting us from The Netherlands in their lovely Morris Minor convertible. It got stolen in the night from 22 to 23 October 2009 somewhere between 3am and 7am in East London

-IT IS A LEFT HAND DRIVE CAR
-It used to be a saloon but was rebuild to a convertible.
-It is trafalgar blue and has a white soft top. It has white leather seats with a blue stripe.
-It has old Dutch reg. plates (dark background / white letters) : AL-98-42
- Badge- bar on front bumper with 4 badges, 3 beermakes of which one Old Speckled Hen and 1 classis AA badge
- it has a right wing fixed antenna.
-Chassisnumber: MA 2S 51229374 M (in right watergutter)
- Build in 1969.

They are really upset about this loss and really hope to see the car back one day!!

Does anyone have an idea where to look for it? I allready called some scrap yards and they said they would look out for it. Of course the police is informed as well.

It would be so nice if everyone could keep an eye out for it, since there won't be many left hand driven cars in the UK..

If you see or hear anything about it, please let us know:

kellyxpx@hotmail.com or call on 07955367784

Thank you so much!!!

Kelly

Hi Kelly,
Thanks for passing the message on, and I'm sure many folks will keep an eye out for it.
Being LHD and with white hood and interior etc... it would be harder to disguise.

It may come up for sale in the UK. Most are stolen in the south west, but a few get stolen in London. Unfortunately, good condition Minors can fetch good money abroad, so apart from looking at ebay France, Germany and UK etc.. it's hard to say what else to do.

Sept 2010 - finally gave up breaking down in a SII Landy...
where to break down next?
2013... managed to seize my 1275 just by driving it round the block :(

Whereabouts in East London was it stolen from? I live there so could have a look around the area if you can be a bit more specific. As Ray has said, it's very distinctive so I hope it will be spotted and returned soon.

It's stolen on Tredegar road in Bow. Right oposite a local shop. And right outside my sisters house.. The local shop has a seciruty camera which stops running between 3 and 7. It was still there at 3am, but gone at 7am.

I'll keep an eye on ebay in France and Germany, thanks for the tip

Being a soft top it would make a pefect wedding car. See if any firms have been offered it to add to their fleet.
