beloved recently converted and fully restored 1967 morris minor. reg JEG789E.

chassis number 1176485 engine number 10MA-UM248418

she was fitted with a battery cut-out switch, which i did remove last night, so she would have to have been lifted onto a flat-bed to take her away.

REALLY sorry to hear your sad news!

Have added details to my STOLEN list - is it a genuine convertable
and did you ever note its' body number?

Have you tried the Police for junction/traffic light cctv footage?

Chris

The chassis & engine number match, therefore I know the first 3 digits - deduced
via other 2drs either side of yours.

Have you pressed the Police for traffic footage, if you discover the exact time it was
stolen, other cameras en route may pick up more details of the transporter, OR
a rough area where the vehicle has gone into hiding.

Hope these suggestions have been of some help(?)

Chris

Is it any wonder that, on balance, I prefer animals to humans?! There really are some low life's out there for whom few punishments are too severe!
I can only begin to imagine what you must be feeling having spent all that money and waited all that time to finally get the car of your dreams only to lose it after a few weeks.
I really do wish you all the best and hope that the local constabulary pull out all the stops to return your beautiful car to you, and I only hope that upon it's return ( hopefully) you don't find that the pleasure of ownership has been too tainted by the actions of this sub~human trash.
Good luck

Barstewards again, lifted on a flatbed though?
Thats high profile expensive theft, usually reserved for cosworths, Ferraris etc: I would have thought unlikely.
My bet is the battery disconnect was bypassed and the car driven away,I like the idea of pressing the police for camera evidence, that would be right useful.
For all the other readers of this terribly sad tale, all you can do is decrease the odds.

Absolute filth slithering around now.
I feel sick for you.

Sad thing is, if they want ANYTHING that desperately, they'll have it regardless.
Tracker is probably the only reasonable option that gives you at least a chance of recovery.

Got my fingers crossed for you and details on my dashboard. POMMReg's CCTV idea seems good - it's a long shot but are there any private/shop/business cameras in the immediate area?
:-?

Will be keeping a close eye out for this at the many classic car shows I'll be attending this year.
It has quite a distinctive door mirror I notice.

Not much chance it'll be shown anywhere, but you never know ey?

I really could weep for you. Worst nightmare. Gutted. :(

I can only sit quietly and try to imagine just how dreadful you must feel about this, as it's never happened to me.

Came close when the house was broken into and the keys to my usual car were stolen, but the dead brain moronic t*** couldn't find reverse gear before I 'clocked' him.

I'm going to look into the various tracking devices that are now available with a view to fitting one to Moggsy.
We're all at high risk so stopping this oxygen wasting filth in their tracks has to be attempted.

So sorry to read this Angel - my blood ran cold as I did, very close to home as I'm a chop-top owner north of the river. Will keep an eye out for you.

posting her full spec now in the hope that one of the details will jog in someone's memory if they see her....
restoration Oct - Jan 2014

full body over haul - entire right hand side floor and sills replaced, left hand side was good. chassis in exceptional condition.
internal box sections injected. new chrome front and rear bumper blades, new front top chrome, pair new hockey sticks, pair new door panels.

full internal and external repaint, old english white, incl boot and fully detailed engine bay. wheels sand-blasted and repainted old english white, engine resprayed gold.

full new red interior trim, new front and rear seat covers and new carpet set. new black boot carpet. seats restrapped, pair new rear arm rests, pair new door pulls.

fully reconditioned engine, new clutch, converted for unleaded fuel, pair new-style rear lights ( with brake side lights and indicators), new windscreen rubber and insert.

new hood frame and mohair hood and hood bag.

brake servo, disc brakes, kenwood radio/cd with iPod connection, pair front and rear inertia seat belts, morris minor rubber mats, red decorative line on side, 5 x 155/14 radial tyres. pair door frame mirrors. electronic ignition. heated front wind-screen, alternator, enhanced heater, battery cut-out switch, remote brake top-up system, boot rack.

....... and a few quirks........ the passenger side window didn't wind down properly (glass judders alarmingly at the bottom!), the driver's door gave a bit of trouble to close properly, there is a tiny fault, the size of half a thumb nail, in the paint-work on the back bumper (just left of centre), no inside side poppers for the roof, driver's side door pull had started to split, the fuel guage shows 3/4 full on a full tank and goes straight from half full to empty when the level drops below half full, and the metal housing had fallen off the tail light the afternoon she was stolen, though i'm sure that will be replaced before they try and sell her. there were a couple of small chips in the paint-work on the inside rim of the boot, just where it closes.

:) and thanks everyone for all your support

Left hand side, is that the drivers' side?

Sorry, I always go by nearside/offside.

I know CJ, I thought that as I was typing it out
and, POMMREG, I assume left hand side is passenger side, these were the restorer's words and I haven't checked.
