gearbox problems
i have just changed the engine and gearbox, on a minor 1098 i have just bought (a long story) now the captive nuts on the gearbox are turning when i am trying to do up the bolts. any suggestions greatly appreciated. thanks in advance. kev

Kev, If you re-post this into the mechanical section you might get more answers. Also be a bit more specific as to which nuts you mean as the only captive nuts I can think of are on the chassis legs when bolting up the gearbox xmember. A picture always helps.

If it is the X member bolts - you need to lift the trans tunnel cover to get at them. Can't think of any other 'captive nuts' on the engine/box!
