Ital 1300 to Minor
Hi All
I have just acquired an Ital 1300 (I thinks its an Ital) ribbed sides? Its an A+ I guess?
I need to know what backplate and flywheel is required, can anyone advise or do they have what I need?
Thanks Russ

You'll need a moggy front plate,Midget back plate and a moggy flywheel drilled for the marina crank.

Re: Ital 1300 to Minor
You can reuse your 1098 front and back plates (if it's a 1098 coming out) but you will have to make some small adjustments to the backplate. The flywheel can be purchased from BMMC or accurately redrill your 1098 one....

Re: Ital 1300 to Minor
You will also need a register to locate the flywheel (bolts alone will not be good enough )

Re: Ital 1300 to Minor
Ideally - yes. But many just use the bolts and make sure the holes in the flywheel are snug fit for the bolt shanks. I suppose it would be possible to turn down the Marina flywheel - and then fit a Minor ring gear to it! And then drill/tap holes to take the Minor clutch pressure pad.

Re: Ital 1300 to Minor
Thank you guys
Mike I am using a Minor 1098cc gearbox and the flywheel has been redrilled it appears and there is a backplate on there but does appear to be to good
Will get some pics later front plate is modified for a MInor
Can I use the later Metro electronic distributor.................reason is I have a brand new one! Can't remember the number now!

Re: Ital 1300 to Minor
Bolt the moggy and Ital backplate together and cut out the differance...sorted.
ESM do a modded backplate.

Re: Ital 1300 to Minor
Sounds like the complete engine was already 'Minorised' - so just use it! Yes you can use the Mutro dizzy - but it's not something the Mini lads get excited about!

Re: Ital 1300 to Minor
I thought you said it was Minor backplate and flywheel ? If so - just use them! Certainly looks like Minor backplate - can even see where it has been butchered at the top dowel location.........

Re: Ital 1300 to Minor
Thanks BMCecosse
One the Minor flywheel is redrilled as it has been does it mount on 6 or still only 4 holes?
The back plate has been butchered and the starter hole has been changed not very well I add, so ideally a Midget backplate would put that right I guess

The idea is to get all 6 holes lined up and bolted up.....RussLCV wrote: One the Minor flywheel is redrilled as it has been does it mount on 6 or still only 4 holes?

Re: Ital 1300 to Minor
From memory the holes are not evenly spaced so you could try removing the 4 bolts and moving the flywheel around to see if you can get all 6 lined up - I can't see why someone would have gone to the trouble to drill it wrong....?

Re: Ital 1300 to Minor
I would just use the backplate you've got - Can't see much wrong with it. Laser cut ones from ESM & BMMC are quite expensive....!
