I get 65 psi when starting, but 25-30 when idling when hot. Normal driving I get 40psi warm.

if it was rebuilt last year you should be getting more than that 65 when cold at least 50 to 60 when on duel carrage way doing 55 to 60 mph and when hot idleing 25 to 40.i think the oil pressure light comes on at 8 psi .mine goes down to 30 when its really hot and idling .

Below 20psi means you have a problem (especially on a rebuilt engine) Might be easily fixed with new main bearing shells, if the crank is ok and they are the right size!

I would make sure the pressure gauge is calibrated first though!

No Gauge - No Worries
As long as the light does not come on at idle you will not know the difference

Exactly no light no rattles leave well alone, don't know why people have this obsession with fitting after market gauges, just something else to worry about in my view.

If that 20 psi is when running at decent revs - then stop using the engine right away. If it's the hot/idling pressure then it's not great, but 'ok'. Rule of thumb - 10 PSI for every 10 MPH in top gear - up to 60 when the relief valve opens. Who 'rebuilt' the engine - and what did they do to it?
