Revised eye bolt negative camber
I have after reading various previous posts made a pair of revised negative camber eyebolts I have moved the bush location hole outwards by 5mm to achieve this but also made the thread length longer so if required I can also add some more washers this should give me at least some small degree of negative camber I intend to fit them over the winter lay up

Am I missing something? Apart from the picture that is?

Well done! What material did you use for the modified eyebolts ?

Which worked!Another attempt at photo
I'll second the question "What material did you use for the modified eyebolts ?"
"Once you break something you will see how it was put together"
Re: Revised eye bolt negative camber
Superb!! Well done. I wish I had the tools - and the skills........
Re: Revised eye bolt negative camber
Made from good quality mild steel block 150mm x 50mm x 50mm they took about 5 hours on a Myford lathe and a modelengineering milling machine that I have, a large part of the time being the shaft diameter from the square bar but this also saved time on the rest of the eyebolt feature
Re: Revised eye bolt negative camber
I think that should be fine considering the size of the parts. Although EN8 would be better!
Re: Revised eye bolt negative camber
You may well be right about the EN8 the wall thicknes has been increased 100% on my parts and were made from the same material as JCB buckets so the supplier told me so it should be OK but your point is very valid
Re: Revised eye bolt negative camber
Oh I'm sure it's perfectly satisfactory for the loads imposed by a Minor front suspension. You just need to work out how much you would need to charge for them to make it worth your while.

Re: Revised eye bolt negative camber
Looks to be a much smaller nut than standard. With normal eyebolts the major diameter of the thread is pretty much the same as the stud diameter... isn't it?
I hope the smaller (machined) thread will be strong enough to take the cornering loads.
The originals may well have been rolled threads to further increase their strength.

Re: Revised eye bolt negative camber
Good point about the thread size - although looks more than strong enough for the task - it doesn't have to do much. Easily increased in future runs I'm sure (and will save time on machining too). Pretty sure not rolled threads on originals.....
Re: Revised eye bolt negative camber
The originals are smaller than the shaft so this one is correct!

Re: Revised eye bolt negative camber
Ah, you're correct. Been a while since I had an eyebolt off.
Originals looks bigger than the dalgrae's. Possibly.

Well I'm not going to fault it, I think it's a neat job and pleased to see someone still capable.
