Can I do wheel alignment with out going to a garage

With difficulty, and lots of time yes. But for £15 or so, its probably not worth the hassle. Where abouts in the country are you?

Yes - of course you can. My gauge is a simple dexion bar with 'arms' fixed at right angles. If I measure 3 times - I get the same result 3 times - so I think it works. I fear many 'garages' charge a lot more than £15 to do the job......
