Dear sir, could I know how to fit exaust system (in one piece) on my traveller? Must I take off the petrol tank?
Thanks a lot, Max

Re: Exaust system
You should have bought a 2/3 piece!!! You will probably need a pit or hoist

No need to remove the tank. Chock the front wheels, raise the rear of the car as high as possible and support on stands. However, do not put the stands under the axle - you want the axle to hang down as low as possible in order to get clearance between the axle and the body. Remove the left hand rear wheel (loosen the nuts before you start raising the car). You will now be able to wiggle the complete pipe into place over the axle. It is a question of fiddling around, but is possible. Many people cut the pipe and fit a sleeve to make the fitting easier - ESM supply their pipes like that as it makes carriage easier. Good luck.

I agree - it's perfectly possible - no need to remove anything, although I agree removing that rear wheel probably makes it easier.

Re: Exaust system
Perhaps the hardest part will be lining the downpipe up with the manifold and obtaining a gas-tight joint here.
Be VERY CAREFUL not to overtighten the manifold clamp, as this can crack the cast iron.

Re: Exaust system
Before you tighten the exhaust clamp put a piece of wood or something to give some clearance under the pipe where it enters the engine bay. Otherwise it will rattle!
