Throttle cable Query 68 morris 1000

Post by rockabillygilly »

My cable has just snapped on me on the way home. :( My local car spares cant get hold off one but they said that the mini one is the same. Is this correct as my moggy is used every day and need one until i get one from offline.

Thanks

A Mini one will likely be too short - but is otherwise identical - so you can try it. Alternative is the inner cable from a bicycle brake cable. Always carry a spare throttle cable !

its actually a gear cable from a bike, brake and gear cables have different ends, the brake one has a bigger end and doesnt fit in the pedal

if in doubt give it a clout!

I have swapped the carb ends of the choke and accellerator cables over to get me home. DON'T DO THIS AT HOME :(

It's even more scary when the throttle return spring snaps - and the engine goes full throttle without any warning.... A spare in the glovebox is handy then......
