Distance from the ground

Post by princess090967 »

Dear sirs, thanks a lot for your reply to my topics. Here, I have attached two pictures of my car: one of the exterior another of the front sunspension. Please, could you confirm that the car is too near the ground (from ground and the low part of starting handle there are about 11 cm). Please, could you confirm that I can solve the problem adjusting torsion bars. In the end It may be that problem are front sunspensions.
Thanks, Max[frame]Image[/frame][frame]Image[/frame]

Measure from ground to highest point of the front wing opening - it should be ~ 26/27 inches (approx 660 mm). If it is too low - then yes it is raised by adjusting the lower suspension arm around on the splines of the Torsion bar. Each spline is worth approx 1.25 inches ( approx 32mm). Show us a picture of the front wheel and wing position - on each side.
Edited to correct silly size of " 13 inches " due to brain fade... Sorry!

Not quite sure about this Roy.....I think I must have misunderstood. Can't see how this would work as the wheel itself is 14 inches in diameter. Measured mine to the highest point of the wheelarch opening ( assuming that is what you mean ) and it's approx 26.5 inches. Am I being stoopid here?
Love that engine bay and REALLY love that nice, clean, tiled garage floor!

Sorry! YES -26/27 inches - brain fade there ........so 660mm. I've changed the last post - with a note. And yes - from these pics it is at least one spline too low.....

At least one spline I'd say, I think it should be 6 inches from the ground to the eyebolt.
Normally I can get 4 slimmish fingers between the top of the tyre and the wing.
