Trying to get decent 7" brake linings, as Ferrodo / Mintex have now discontinued them, proving too difficult. The only ones I could find are sold under the brand name Willow by all the usual suspects. They are not very good to say the least (I've tried 3 sets already, with very poor results) - So, I've now bought 8" front braking equipement (bargain Ebay purchase), for my 1960 MM. I'm hoping it's an easy swap over

It is a very easy swap (less than 1 hour each side) - and the cylinders from the 7" can be used if need be - and the braking improvement will be considerable. Has anyone elver taken theirs in for re-lining?

I know I watched wheeler dealers once and they brought a Polish car so could not get shoes over here, so went to a company that reclined the old ones.

Not sure of the company though.

Might be worth the Club Spares collecting some old 7" shoes for re-lining??? Might get a good rate?? I've got 1 set that I'd be happy to donate

But what would they reline them with....chocolate, or camel dung......

Just wondering how Holden have them when regular MM suppliers told me they were no longer available?

My philosophy is that every thing is out there you just have to look and search and not just in the regular places.

if you can find me the tiny little plastic clip that secures the mouse pad ribbon cable on a Toshiba laptop.......my dear wife would be v grateful. To replace the one 'that I broke' when 'repairing' her laptop..... Looked everywhere... There is a USA source that wants a ridiculous amount of money for what is not 'sure' to be the right part anyway......

Roy post a pic of the socket.I have piles of laptops as I repair them.Model number of machine and a rough idea of its length also.How many tracks on the ribbon?

Ohhhh - will do !! It's a Toshiba satellite....I'll get the number later (just getting dragged out....) and it's the little cable (I think) for the mouse pad -since it's not working... Everything else is ok.

I have had my brakes relined on one of my Bantam bikes and was given the option of a better but slightly softer material to improve the brakes good when you think these shoes are only 1/2 wide ,quite a lot of bike dealers in the classic trade know of who will do this ,so when mine on my car require relining this is the way I will be going

When I started in the motor trade bonded brake linings were the exception and I have spent many an hour relining brake shoes using Ferodo/Mintex lining material and copper/brass rivets. Not a hard job really and quite satisfying.

There are currently a set of NOS Ferodo front brake shoes for a 1957-62 Minor on 'e' bay' Item No: 221354517139 at a Buy It Now price of £19.95.

I have a box of old brake shoes ready for the time the are required for relining.
The Wolseley brakes may need relining already
