Which thermostat Housing

Post by plg422d »

I have a Marina 127fcc engine fitted (engine number starts 12V), can anyone suggest the best thermostat housing to use, the one it has fitted has a large spacer fitted with a hose outlet fitted, and this has a blanking hose fitted which is starting to crack.

Will a standard 1098cc Thermostat housing fit a 1275cc engine as I assume this will fgive the right fit for the top hose.

Thanks

Yes - with a curved piece of hose cut from a bottom hose.

David Manners sells one specially for the 1275 / Moggy. It is not cheap. Roy's suggestion is a lot easier.

We have the housing from a 'B' Series engine, not sure what is was from now as it was ~20 years ago that I got it from our local breakers yard. All I had to do was to open up the holes in it by about 1/16" to allow for the slightly different stud pattern, and the alignment with the radiator is near perfect.
