Running lean.
So my Morris will run for a while, I had it idling for just over an hour before attempting to drive it and it loses power when accelerating, it accelerates fluffily and dies. When I took the spark plugs out they were black so I guess the mixture is too rich? So is the best way to sort it by tightening the adjusting nut on the bottom of the carb? I will upload a picture:

Re: Running lean.
As a first stab try screwing the jet adjusting nut upwards to lean the mixture and see what happens. Make a note of the flats turned in case you need to return the jet to its previous setting.
If that does not cure the problem it may be the needle valve in the float chamber leaking past. Check the float level as per the wksp manual.

Re: Running lean.
I spent a good bit of time setting my mixture, I would go for a spin (10 ish) miles and as approaching a lay-by turn off and coast the last few yards then remove the plugs for inspection.
Mine will tickover rich but the important running mixture I know to be pretty good. I guess it needs a slightly different needle but haven't gone down that route.

Re: Running lean.
basic setting is wind the nut up right up to the top then go down 2 full turns or 12 flats amounts to the same thing and fine tune from there .thats the factory setting
