heater tap replacement

Hi,

I am replacing rubbish lever type heater valve for original tap version, do i need to use sealant on the gasket?

No just clean both surfaces then fit the gasket and you should be fine.

Keep it well lubed when installed and occasionally wind it up and down. They do seize up without attention.
