How long does it take for your series A engine in summer weather take to warm up before there is no condensate coming out of the exhaust?

Mine, which frequently only does very short journeys can take quite a long time. Car was last used for a 10 mile run last Wednesday. Today it is 18c here. Traces of vapour leaving the tailpipe after 10 min drive.

To be honest I don't pay much attention to what comes out of the exhaust as long as I can see behind me.
I spend more time chasing oil and coolant leaks!

I'm always wary of whats coming out the back... ever since my Austin A50 suffered spectacular ring failure one day... I thought someone had lit a bonfire...

Period of time water droplets seen from exhaust pipe, water droplets colouring, if there any sign of contamination or white smoke is an indicator of engine performance during this engine warming up cycle.

Smoke or steam from the exhaust can indicate a problem such as head gasket failure or poor carburation.
Beige emulsion in the rocker box cover usually means water in the oil from a leaking head gasket.
Check the colour of the spark plug electrodes before further investigation as this will give you a fair idea of the engine condition.

It has to be remembered that for every gallon of petrol you put in the tank a gallon of water will come out of the exhaust.
When the exhaust system is sufficiently hot enough the water vaporises past the point of visibility but the gallon per gallon still happens.

Only when you are loosing water from the cooling system is it the time to worry.

if your not loosing coolant then a nice good run will burn the water off
