A quick answer .............. YES................but you will need some high car ramps at least.
Drain gearbox oil.
Remove propshaft.
Remove engine steady bar.
Remove top hose.
Remove exhaust from manifold joint
Remove clutch linkage.
Place jack/packing under sump.
Remove bell housing bolts
Remove speedo cable from gearbox.
Remove cross member.
Supporting the gearbox - Drop rear of engine/gearbox. Oil will run out even when main gearbox is drained.
Put a piece of wood packing between cylinder head and bulkhead cross member.
Twist gearbox to clear rack and the gearbox will slide out rearwards.
Watch when the weight comes off the bell housing dowels and you have all the weight.
It is quite a lump to support and if you have a second jack to support the gearbox so much better.
If the cross member is free it takes about 3/4 hour to remove the gearbox and I have removed the original Minor gearbox on my Minor several times when only supported on the car ramps but I was a lot fitter and stronger back then.

Don't forget to remove the gearstick! Gearbox tunnel and seats remain in place.
I would also recommend to check the clearance on the heater control valve on the back of the cylinder before tilting the engine.

Well spotted Declan.
The wooden packing is to ensure that the heater valve does not get snapped off but you are right to check all the same.
