has anyone ever changed the slotted cup at the bottom of the lever part no 2a3308 , i have a new bmc part which is a steel machined item but my original is pressed steel and i can't find a way to get the pin through , i am wondering if it's a modification from factory and the lever / pin is different , it all fits together apart from the pin , on the original the lever will tip in the cup to allow the pin through just like assembling a prop uj , any ideas

update just found earlier part number 2a 3065 in a 1955 parts book so looks like a factory modification and i think the pin must be modified
