I have just purchased a 1971 ex BT van which i am currently restoring to a British Caledonian Airways livery ( One on view at Brooklands).
The one thing missing is a Starting handle !!! Can anyone help out I can collect or pay costs and postage. I live in Bognor Regis.

Welcome to the world of Minor ownership, and the forum. When you join the MMOC you will get a copy of the magazine "Minor Matters" in which many specialist suppliers will be advertising, and most will be able to sell you everything that you need. ou will also fins details for the Club spares, and Bryan will almost certainly have some starting handles available. If you come to the National Rally (22nd/23rd June) then you should be able to pick up a handle without any problem and have a great day/weekend out too.

In short, handles are readily available. We look forward ot seeing the van :)

Unless originality is paramount to you, and you want the later red type with a wheel brace at the other end, try and find a (black) handle from a SII as these have a sleeve on the bit you grasp, which rotates as you crank. Kinder to the hands! Of course, don't wrap your thumb around the handle as you might instinctively do - keep your thumb on the same side as your fingers when cranking to minimise any injury should the engine kick back 8)
