Long thread a while back re replacement heater valves which I don't think came up with a solution
So, how about this one?
https://www.t7design.co.uk/brass-heater ... m-5-8.html
Looks a well made valve at a reasonable price but I'm looking for ideas as to where is the best place to mount the valve

A neat way to solving this problem is to install the brass valve from the earlier cars and just use it as a take-off point and a shut off valve. This was suggested by Achim Vogt when I recommended the t7/Siroco valve. This saves extra plumbing and does not look out of place. Connect the t7 valve via a short hose directly to the outlet of the brass valve and you are done. Just beware when you buy the Siroco valve that there are two options-push to open and push to close. The movement on the Siroco valve when new is so smooth you can operate it with your little finger.
Regards
Declan

I went down a different route fitting a 3 way valve. This ensures water is always passing through the top of the head and is either sent back(off) or to the heater(on). I was able to use the original control inside the car to operate the valve

The valve I used is in the link below. I fitted it inside the car. The 2 narrower pipes pass through the bulk head where it is held with the pipes and jubille clips. It's been OK so far (about 6 months) and it isolated the heater as required.

Please note its 5/8bore which is larger than the standard pipe. It matches perfectly the uprated mini heater matrix
