Oil filter

Post by les »

I need to replace a spin on filter, I presume the one I need is the same as for a 1000cc mk 1 mini. Can someone confirm this please, and indeed a part number for any particular make, thanks. I’d prefer a known make. ESM sell a filter but I’ve never heard of the manufacturer. I think unipart did one GLE 103 ?

Les

If you are referring to the WIX oil filter on the ESM web site Pt No: 10M802 - WIX are a very well known oil filter manufacturer and been around for many years;-

https://wixeurope.com/en/company/o-nas

I have used WIX oil filters for some rime.

WIX WL7077 currently fitted. The thread for securing the filter to filter head is 3/4" UNF so a variety of filters can be used.

Phil, it just so happens that I’ve been checking them out, and as you say, they appear to be well thought of. I had not been aware of the make until looking at the ESM site. I’ve always been impressed with their delivery and with the subsequent opinions on Wix filters, I’ll place an order. Thanks for both replies.

Ordered filter, £2.95. There is the usual catch though, add vat and postage and you end up paying more than the price of 2 filters,—— just over 7 quid !!

Postage and Vat, probably doubles that. I’m not complaining about my purchase really, just the shock of the final price at the checkout, compared with the listed price.

The usual suppliers of Minor parts offer free delivery on orders over £60. If I have an order which comes to slightly less I top it up with regular use items such as filters, fan belt, top hose etc. Saves on postage and the parts are here when I need them.
