Front bushes

Post by Stanmo »

Hello all. I have received a set of new bushes from esm. I was going to get a local garage to replace but would prefer to do my self! I found a few videos on the subject but am concerned on the bottom bushes and messing up torsion bar etc. Could any one advise on method, what order to replace and what I should be mindful of? A step by step if possible?

Use the MMOC search facility and the BMC wksp manual for all the information you require.
Here is a link to get you started.

Whilst the poster in the link above was able to pull the torsion bar away from the chassis leg it is not to be recommended as it can put excessive load on the cross member. The best way of removing the eye bolt from the thick suspension arm without disturbing the suspension setting is to knock the thick arm rearwards just sufficient to allow the eye bolt to be withdrawn.
