hi all
looking to fit a 1.5inch carb to my 948cc minor any suggestions to the needle?

I would be minded to try the Standard needle first - whatever that might be - and see how that goes. If this is a stock 948 cylinder head I’d be surprised if you saw much of an improvement.
It was cars like the Morris Oxford Series II and III which used a 1.5” carb so needle grades would be given in those books.

The Morris Oxford Ser: 2 & Ser: 3 used single H2 SU 1 1/4" carburettors.
The Ser: 2 used a AUC746 H2 SU carb with a M8 needle.
The Ser: 3 used a AUC811 H2 SU carb with a EB needle.
As regards the needle - try a H6 needle with a red damper spring. The H6 is slightly richer than the standard M or AN needle.
