Gearboxes
Some years ago, maybe ten or so, I rebuilt two gearboxes, they have been stored ever since. I’m sure one has Midget internals, the shaft has 22G 299, which I think suggests this. The other is stamped 22G 172. Probably a standard 1098. I would like conformation of these boxes please. So much water passed under the bridge since rebuilding !

Re: Gearboxes
Different ratios? Easy to spot the difference, even if you can’t work out the actual ratios.

Thanks Phil for posting that chart. One more query please. Am I right in saying each input shaft is obliged to use the parts listed under its column ? As I’m presuming the input shaft dictates what laygear is used consequently the appropriate gears ?

Les
You are correct in that the first motion shaft will dictate the lay-gear used.
