god i wish mine looked like that...

Don't know if anyone can help - I'm very new to this, Having bought my very first minor (1965 four door) two weeks ago.

My front passenger side door does not line up with the car and you can see daylight above the quarterlight. Not sure how to adjust it. The catch works and the door seems safely shut but looks like its about to open from the outside.

Any help/ suggestions appreciated.

I'm glad to see its not just me! Just replaced the door pulls on my moggy, then did the passenger draught excluder because both sides were really tatty. Fitted the new one and the door needs to be slammed shut. Worse, I need to kick it from the inside to get it to open! Agh. Not ideal. I'm running my gf and I to a wedding in it tomorrow - we may both end up using the drivers door, or maybe I'll stick her in the back chauffeur style!!!

Having problems aligning the front passenger door , before I try adjusting the latches, are there plates that will drop off in the B pillar if I unscrew the screws too far?

( as in the hinge plates )

When I fitted my doors/seals I discovered there are 2 types of seal and one is a lot softer than the other. First seal I fitted was just 'too much' even after realigning the seal flange.
Second seal I fitted was so much better, almost acceptable!
Although I can't remember where I got them from!

Thanks Alan but to clarify a little , I haven't fitted new seals , just want to re-align the doors and didn't want to drop any hidden plates?

As long as your door pillars are in reasonable nick, the plates are retained.

I can now answer my own question ,the catch is retained by two No10 UNC 5/8 screws and it feels like you will lose it if you undo both together..with no access from the rear...

Drilled one at once ,easy-outed then re-tapped and re-fitted..
