paint colour

Post by boydogs »

I have just bought a 1958 Minor 2 door saloon on V5C colour states Grey/Green The car is a light grey with a slight tint of green possibly. In the engine compartment on the right hand side the plate shows Z24040 on the left side of the plate but the right side of the plate has rusted away. Would anyone know what type and colour of paint i could use,and where to buy it from. Thankyou boydogs.

Welcome to the messageboard. There were two shades of grey in use during 1958 - birch grey & clarendon grey. Birch grey was the lighter grey but your car might also have been painted a non standard colour at some point. Take a look at the pictures of the travellers in this thread - does your car look a similar colour?
