rear wings/fender replace or fix?
The rim on both rear fenders is in very bad condition. I'm having a hard time fixing the rim so that it is both sturdy, and lines up well enough with the body to make a tight seal with the rubber strip. should the fenders be replaced? or is there an easier way to fix this than I am thinking of?[frame][/frame]

Not so simple in California I'm sure.
How are the inner wings and the rest of the car?

inner wings have a few holes, but I was able to patch it up and putty it smooth. the car is in pretty good shape, I've replaced the floor extension pans, and the driver's floor pan, but besides that, it's not too bad. the only badly rusted parts were where the rear wings connected with the body. almost like somebody didn't use any kind of seal between the two.

There should have been some plastic piping between the wing and body.
Not exactly a seal though.
Not all new wings will fit well, someone here should be able to recommend a good place to get some.

just bought a distributor cap from http://britautoparts.com/ I haven't received it yet, but once I get some more money I'll probably buy a pair of rear wings. Does anybody know if this company sells good quality parts?

also I am considering getting fiberglass finders, just to cut costs. are there issues with them?

No issues with fibreglass fenders (called valence over here) I've had them fitted to several cars without a problem. Make sure they are properly sanded, primed and painted and you don't notice the difference As for the parts dealer I can't comment I'm afraid, but we do have posters on this site in the USA who will know.

I'm in SoCal and I buy mostly from ESM in the UK. Even with shipping, I find the cost lower by far than the place in Oregon. There are other good suppliers in the UK, but for me ESM has the best and easiest website to purchase from. By the way, I have fibreglass rear fenders on my Traveller and you would never know it. cheers and good luck on your project.

cool, and thanks. I'll call and compare shipping prices between ESM and Oregon.

Some useful stuff here;
1. Morris catalog (.pdf file). Morris price list.
2. Headliner installation (2dr saloon).
3. Convertible top cover installation.
4. Turn signal switch wiring.
5. Traveller roof gutter installation.
6. Traveller wood installation.

Is there an English - American Auto Translation list?
Wings (front & rear) = Fenders
Wings (front & rear) = Fenders

Re: rear wings/fender replace or fix?
If your fenders (wings) are otherwise in good order - just take them to a body shop and ask them to remake and shape the part where they join the car 'inner wing' . It's bound to be much less expensive than buying new + shipping.
