Centre Consol (Aftermarket)
Anyone make a plastic or similar centre consol that goes around the gearstick and the gearbox cover, to give a 'flat' tray for storing mints, cassette tapes, odd keys, etc in ? I have tried fitting old ones from Simcas/Cortinas/Chevettes but they dont really fit well.

Re: Centre Consol (Aftermarket)
old sweet wrappers, car park tickets, petrol reciepts, DIY till receipts, etc. etc.
There is plenty of storage space in two glove boxes and the parcel shelf, space filled by air bags on modern cars.

Re: Centre Consol (Aftermarket)
I used to have an aftermarket one intended for a Mk2 Escort in a pickup I used to own. I actually won it in a Manchester Branch Rally Raffle a long time ago (the console, not the pickup!) and eventually passed it on to someone who wanted it for an Escort...
However it was made out of ply and trimmed in vynil with a wood finish in the area you'd fit a radio in - very 70s, but it'd be easy enough to make some cardboard patterns to suit and then build a plywood one to suit your requirements (cup holders, USB ports etc).

My 1300 chewed casette tapes up, I never had a luxury of 8 track cartridge players.

Yeah I remember the old 70s centre consoles with screws in the vinyl covered hardboard sides into woodchip !!!!!
To be honest I prefer the older cars like the moggy and 70s minis without consoles as you get the feeling of space (in a mini ???) you know what i mean.
