Traveller sill covers fitted
Hello. Iv just started removing sill bits. The underside of the sills seem to have cover panels welded over them. They're properly made panels seam welded around. The panels underneath are rusty tho. Do i just cut out the covers repair the inner sills then weld the new panels on? Im capable of doing this work just want to here how others have done with the cover panels on. Pictures to follow.

Essentially yes - remove all the rusty bits and weld in new... Sounds easy.....

Not too clear from the photo, but I can't see any sign of the inner sill strengthener which a traveller (or convertible) should have. Not on the Moss diagram, and not unusual for them to go missing during sill replacement, but if you want to have a look Taupe's traveller resto thread shows these well. You're going to have to open up the front inner wing to get to the front end of the boxing plate, but at least you already have removed the timber so you can see around the B pillar. I did this bit while I thought I could still save the wood, which made it tricky!

Yeah i think it has. Its like another plate on the inner sills. Like double skinned.
