I am just beginning to contemplate trying to spray my four door. If I can get a finish half as good as yours I will be really happy. I am approaching it from the point of view that they are fifty year old cars and as such don’t have to look as if they have come straight from the showroom. At the end of the day we are all trying to do what we can / what we can afford to keep these lovely old cars going. Keep the pictures the coming. They give me something to dream / aim for. Good luck.

2 hrs rubbing down with wet & dry, then rubbing compound, and it's not looking bad. Not professional standard, but far better than what's on the car.

that's it,if you can see a reflection then its near enough, you have a good depth of paint so as you polish (obviously once a week :D :D :D ) it will get better, and better. well done.

Polish once a week? The car's lucky if it gets washed once a year!

I used Farecla G3 to rub it down. Magic stuff, far better than t-cut. You can still see a couple of runs, and there's still a bit of orange peel texture, but as you say, it'll get smoother. It needs a few more costs of elbow grease.
I'm pleased.

This is what it's replacing. Two shades of green and a ton of filler.
