Front spring hanger alignment

Post by andrew.searston »

Hi everyone
I have a 1967 2 door saloon, having noticed heavy wear on the out edge of rear tyre, I have inspected to find and poorly repaired front spring hanger, welded at a dodgy angle, I have bought repair panels for both side, my question is where can I find the dimensions from so that it’s welded back in correctly. I don’t want to just rely on the springs or eyeball it
Thanks
Andy

Hello Andrew

There is some information in the Rose Taupe Traveller restoration thread. See page 9.

The key is the rivets in the rear floor at the base of the seat support vertical panel. These are your reference points for the placement of the front mounts.

There wasnt much left at the rear of ours so I measured from the front eyebolt if you get each side and the diagonals the same it should ok.
