Van cab seal leak

Post by DCMVan70 »

Hi All

I noticed that I have a leak when it is raining (slow) and when driving in the rain (worse) between the cab and the back of the van.
There is a brand new rubber seal in there, and I am wondering if anyone has any tips for sealing - it is just above the passenger seat.
I am going to try tightening the bolts, but wonder if I should loosen and try and get some silicon or some sort of sealant in there?

Regards
David

Captain Tolley's Creeping Crack Cure is a really good product and can be used to sealing those untraceable leaks.

I had the same issue a while back, I tightened the bolts ( not too tight to avoid distortion) and it seems to have done the trick. Prior to this I bought the product Phil recommends but thought I’d try tightening first.

I know that boat owners swear by Capt Tolley’s for stopping leaks from windows.
It is a very useful product.

I use it for filling the tiny cracks in the woodwork joints on my traveller, it prevents water seeping in where it is not wanted.

All

Thanks for your feedback, just to let you know what worked.
Tightening the bolts seems to have fixed the leak - I am in the West Country so will find out for sure this weekend.
The Captain Trolley's stuff seems to have worked an absolute treat on the windscreen of my MK2 Jag, which is out on the rain while I play with the van.

Thanks again
David
