Pointed Wing Bolts
Just wondering if the 'pointed' wing fixing bolts are available 'new' anywhere?
Spec is 5/16" BSF one inch long.
Cheers Ian

Re: Pointed Wing Bolts
Short answer.... YES.
Slightly longer answer..... Showing up on CW website, but in 3/4 length, ESM don't say what length theirs are.

Re: Pointed Wing Bolts
Thanks for coming back to me geoberni but I am after the 'pointed' wing bolts as in this photo.
The pointed ends are visible in the engine bay and boot. I have some second hand ones but not enough.

The original bolts have an overall length of 1 1/8" with a threaded length of 15/16". The difference in length is comprised of the point.

The ESM Bolts are pointed: https://www.morrisminorspares.com/body- ... ng-p829170
So are the CW ones...
https://www.morrisminor.org.uk/parts/12 ... -unf-x-3-4
They just aren't the same length as the originals.

Re: Pointed Wing Bolts
The 5/16" UNF bolt in the CW link above has completely the wrong thread. The 5/16" wing bolts screw into 5/16" BSF captive nuts so the bolt must have a 5/16" BSF thread.
Here is the correct CW link:-
https://www.morrisminor.org.uk/parts/11 ... ing-fixing
It does not appear to have a point.
There does seem to be a variance in the length of original BMC 5/16" BSF wing bolts in that some are 3/4" threaded and some 15/16" threaded.
The length of the NOS wing bolts I have and sourced way back from BM are 3/4" threaded (plus point). As ESM bought out the BM spares I suspect that the ESM bolts will be 3/4" length threaded.
For those that are interested - here is the BMC Pt No: AJD6257Z.....................Screw - wing to body.

Re: Pointed Wing Bolts
Apologies, I got a bit lost chasing different bolts around the CW site. So many of them seem OoS and redirected to SS09...

I've ordered the wing bolts from ESM so will add photos of those when they arrive and my originals for comparison.

Re: Pointed Wing Bolts
Replacement wing bolts arrived this morning from ESM and I am pleased to say look pretty much spot on replacements.
I've ordered the bolts for just one side of the car at the moment (front and rear wings) and have noticed there are 4no 'longer' bolts in the packages.
I can see that two of the long bolts will be for the Series II jacking points found at the rear of the front wing, but where do the other 2no long bolts go?

At the rear of the rear wing where they also go through the rear bumper mounting.

Just one of the many features that can be on a forum like this, if only it wasn't so far out of date.
I'm on another forum using the same core phpBB software, that has a [Thanks] Button.
