two door or four door?
Average condition 4 door minors seem a bit less popular, and seem to sell for less.

Regarding 'doesn't look too bad' - thats what varies the price. At the tatty end (couple of bubbles on the doors or back edge of the wing, couple of small dents) prices start at £600. (for a really rough car with dodgy paint - start at £400 with full MOT!)
To get £1000 and upwards it needs to look smart all round, shiny paint and quite good chrome decent tyres etc..
To get £1500 to £2000 it needs to be very smart with a smart interior - also a clean tidy engine bay in body colour (no patches on inner wings covered in black underseal etc) - Also the underside repairs have to be done in a very neat way with no patches and no blobby welding, and good chrome all round.
To get over the £2000 mark it has to be getting towards show standard with a lot of care, attention and money spent on it.

However, the ill-informed seller will look in the price guide and declare the car is 'condition 2' and think he/she deserves £1600 for a £1000 car.

The ill informed buyer will pay top whack for a rubbish car that looks nice (respray over filler/rot that won't last 6 months etc..)

If your car has tatty paint and rusty boot/doors - (and you put it in the advert!!) people will turn up and exclaim 'coor its really bad ain't it' ignoring that you didn't ask much money for it - Without looking at the more important bits like structure and mechancals which may be perfect
