SeriesII heater pipe warning plate
Hi Everyone
How does the heater pipe warning plate fit on the MM Series II 1954 with the A series engine. I need to know how it was originally fitted, not how best to fit it! It looks from photos/diagrams that it is fixed to one of the heater pipes up by the bulk head but I cannot see how, my manuals are of little help!
Many Thanks - Tony

Hi David
Thanks for your help. Dissapointing to see the screw head slots not all pointing in the same direction ;]

Re: SeriesII heater pipe warning plate
You can't really get wiring terminal screw slots all the same because to achieve this some wires would be overtightened and strip the threads or undertightened and cause an electrical overheat fault. Some terminals have multiple wires some have thin and some thick mixes etc.
I did notice that where this can be achieved it has EG the philips/pozy heads on the data plates screwed to bulkhead are all the same orientation. Very Nice!!!

No way would it have left factory with all screws aligned, deduct points for being non original

A workman who took a pride in his work would make sure they were all aligned.ian.mcdougall wrote:No way would it have left factory with all screws aligned, deduct points for being non original
Re: SeriesII heater pipe warning plate
Hmm-thinking about it you could use a selection of small washers as spacers until you got all the screws to align. My preference would be north/south. Maximum points! ;]

A musician friend has a £20,000 grand piano and the screws are not aligned on the lid and it DRIVES him MAD

It's known as 'dressing' the screws Btw.
