Original reclining seat frame/drawings

Postby Trav1959 » Sun Feb 10, 2013 12:27 pm

I've already placed a post in the Wanted section http://www.mmoc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=48734 to see if anyone has an original (not Newton) reclining seat. I also wondered, as these seem to be fairly rare items, if it would be possible to fabricate a frame from a set of drawings. Does anyone know if that has been attempted?

The reclining seats were available as an optional extra very late in Minor 1000 production and are very rare. They look like the standard late pattern seats but have a chrome lever at the side to recline the seat back.

Excellent thanks for sight of. Some pics would be good too particularly of the handles? Mine were missing and would like the same pattern. I’ve bought new covers made by Newton and they have the correct carpet trim to the lower rear of the squab. Thanks, John

They are mgb handles, same as on my gt. you probably could make recliners from part of mgb bits. The frames are quite cheap.
