My nearside front tyre is wearing on the inside. I've checked the tracking and that's OK. Anyone advise what to check next?

Lo,worth checking the Tie bar rubbers and
that the tie bars are tightened to an equal
amount. Also the upper swivel link rubbers
and the Eye bolt rubbers (fit the modern
'plastic ' type bush to the eye bolt if it needs replacing. In extreme cases the Eye
Bolt assembly can be pulling out of the
chassis leg, due to corrosion.
If all seems ok it may be just a high mileage
on cambered roads?[ This Message was edited by: Willie on 23-02-2002 22:10 ]

Hi
I would check both lengths of track rods, make sure they are equal. If unequal in the centralised(straight ahead position) then the tyre wear would be different on one wheel.
Over time the track is commonly adjusted on one side only which exagerates the fault.( The track reads correct toe-in but has to be with equal track rod lengths) Set s/wheel AFTER adjustments.Watch trafficator cancelling is correct. If not column could be wrong on spline.
A quick test? get r/h wheel straight ahead, l/h should also be same.Ignore s/wheel,could be wrongly set........Ivor
