I have an old baked on discoloured window sticker in my car. Its not proving very easy to remove-is there some sort of solvent to do this?

I'd use some White Spirit and a flat razor blade to scrape it off. Attempt thin slices , a few millimetres , rather a "one hit " go. Moisten with the White Spirit as required, Wipe off when complete and wash glass with Meths
or a proper glass cleaner.

There are several products on the market that can be used for the removal of stickers. Here is one of them:-

I make no recommendation to its effectiveness.

I'd generally use a Paint Scraper, the sort that takes a 'Stanley Knife' blade:

You can get them easily in Pound Shops, DIY stores etc etc
They keep the blade a a good angle for lifting all manner of crud from glass surfaces.

Try with a heat gun first to remove the bulk of the sticker, and then as suggested a blade and white spirit or other solvent for the gooey bits.

There is a product used to clean printer rollers called PlatenClene - It's also great for removing sticker adhesive. Scrape the majority off, spray this on, leave for a minute and clean off. Also great for cleaning rubber trim.
