Do I have the right style of glove box in my minor. Made in April 1963, so just at the point of change over so I’m not sure.
Any ideas?

Re: Glove boxes
I have a January 63 2 door that has the same glove box apertures as yours.

Re: Glove boxes
I thought they originally had doors/flap etc at the front, but they must of changed from that before they made ours

Re: Glove boxes
If you are after total originality then stick with what you have.
If you want more practicality fit a glove box lid.
If you do fit a lid, then do both sides and to those not 'in the know' it will look like it was dispatched that way.
Cheapest I can find at present:

Best wishes,
Mike.

Re: Glove boxes
Those are the really early ones, much sooner that '63.
See Palacebear's remarks here from 2 years ago when I posted about getting some doors.

If you see firedrake's comments in my same topic, he gives the date breakdown. viewtopic.php?f=5&t=67533&hilit=glovebox#p614974cadetchris wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2019 4:33 pm Do I have the right style of glove box in my minor. Made in April 1963, so just at the point of change over so I’m not sure.

Re: Glove boxes
In a nutshell, yours are correct for that age of car.

Re: Glove boxes
Yes but they are a better fit and a nicer look than the later ones, also if he does decide to fit lids it won't be as per original spec anyway. Those are the really early ones, much sooner that '63.
Best wishes,

Re: Glove boxes
Well I’ve just bought a set of glove box lids for the princely sum of £20. One is missing part of a hinge, but that’s relatively sortable.
